Event Makeup Step-by-Step Guide by MUA Meagan Rawlings
Like a lot of other women, I can be slightly controlling when it comes to my makeup. I don't really like other people doing it, as it is never quite right (for example, a lot of makeup artists always try and put black eyeliner along my lower eyelid and I always tell them it will make my eyes look beady and weird, and they always say "not the way I do it, don't worry hun" and guess what, I end up with beady little eyes for the whole night). The only person I fully trust to do my makeup is my good friend and makeup artist Meagan Rawlings (@Makeupbymeags on Instagram). She is bloody talented, and actually listens to what you want. She also is a huge advocate for natural products that are cruelty free, so you can trust everything she uses, and know you're in good hands. I've been friends with Meagan long enough for her to totally nail what I want every time (without even discussing it, she just knows!), and she knows that less is more for me, and I DEFINITELY don't like my makeup to be cakey and matte. I'm all about that dewey life, yo. Anyone else with me on that? I feel like people are either dewey or matte people, and they never switch between the two!
Anyway, last week we went to the Newmarket Business Awards together (neither of us work in Newmarket, but we do love free food and wine), and I asked her if she could come over early to do my makeup, and we could do a wee step by step situation for both of our blogs (Meagan has an awesome lifestyle/makeup blog called www.makeupbymeags.com, check it out!) and she kindly obliged. Have a read of Meagan's blog post below to see what we did, and how we did it.
"I love doing Matilda's makeup! She doesn't wear a lot of makeup, so rather than try to cover up anything, I just try to emphasize her natural beauty. And an added bonus is that all the products I used are organic or natural or both!!

Step 3 - Draw a line under the cheek bones with the W3LL PEOPLE Bio Bronzer and blend out with a foundation brush or your finger tips.
Step 4 - Tap the RMS Living Luminizer along the top of the cheek bones, we also layered this with the Inika Organic Bked Minerl Luminizer for extra glow!
Step 5 - Smile into the mirror and tap RMS Lip2Cheek in Demure onto the apples... keep this out to use on the lips later!
Step 6 - We used the tiniest amount of Brow powder in Matilda's brows... less is more sometimes.
Step 7 - Press RMS Eye Polish in Lunar across the eye lids with your ring finger.
Step 8 - Layer over top of the Eye Polish, the RMS Swift Shadow. Again you can literally press this on with your finger or use a flat eyeshadow brush.
Step 9 - Pop on a few coats of Mascara and Falsies!
Step 10 - Line your lips with Karen Murrell Lip Liner in Camellia Morning and press RMS Lip2Cheek over top. This is such a beautiful fresh, glowy look for any occasion. I Hope you enjoy re-creating it!
