The Miracle that is Face Oil

The Miracle that is Face Oil

Skin care is a big thing for me...  I've started doing my research over the last year or so, and have tried a million different products!  It all stemmed from finding out that my beloved Cetaphil (that had been prescribed to me by a dermatologist to help with acne), was actually just water and chemicals.  It literally does not have one ingredient in it that benefits your skin.  Anyway, I'm going off course...  I could talk about that ALL day!  So after I learned about that, I started to do some research on skincare ingredients, and what is natural (sometimes it can be hard to tell with the long names!) and embarked on a trial-and-error mission, to find the perfect skincare product(s) to suit my skin, as of course everyone is different!

I have had soooo many problems with my skin over the years.  I had pimples (not quite acne) when I was about 16 or so, so got put on some antibiotics to clear it up (which it did... for a while!), and then got FULL BLOWN ADULT ACNE when I was in my early 20s.  It was so awful, and I tried so many things to get rid of it - doxycycline, topical creams, different facewashes, but nothing worked.  I ended up going on Roaccutane for a while, which did actually work, but I wish I had tried natural skincare first, as who knows if that could have fully cleared it up.  I was left with acne scars on my cheeks, and didn't really like wearing no make up, as I was quite self conscious about it.

Fast forward a few years, and my skin has never been better.  I use lots of different products, but one that is truly stand out, is the Rosehip OIl Light Blend, by Trilogy.  Over the years, us women have had it drilled in to us that oil on the face is SO BAD and will lead to pimples!!  But this actually couldn't be further from the truth (depending on the oil...  I'm talking natural here).  Our skin needs to be hydrated, and looked after, and frikn loved!  It's our largest organ, and needs constant TLC.  I started incorporating the Rosehip Oil Light Blend to my daily skincare routine earlier this year, and I have seen huuuuuuge improvements.  I use it morning and night, after I've cleansed and toned, and just press a couple of drops in to my face and neck.  This particular light blend means it is easily absorbed and feels super light...  I'm sure those of you that have used other face oils can relate to the extreme shininess you often get?  Yeah, not with this one!  You just get a really subtle glow, so after I press it in to my face in the mornings, I feel radiant and ready to start my day.  Here's the breakdown of the other oils that make up the light blend:

Rosehip oil - the 'hero'.  The combination of properties in rose hip oil can help to combat spots, wrinkles and discolouration.  The antioxidants, which combat free radicals that cause damage, and vitamin A, combined with the oil's essential fatty acids, help improve skin tone, texture and pigmentation.

Cranberry oil - Helps to moisturise and repair skin.

Jojoba oil - Helps to clarify and soften the skin.

Grapeseed OIl - Helps to regulate the skin's own oil production.

Then finally, antioxidant lycopene from tomatoes, helps protect your precious face from every day free radicals.

So, there you have it.  If this doesn't convince you to give face oil a try (or, at the very least, stop using Cetaphil), then I don't know what will!  Give it a go, and let me know how you find it.  I promise, you won't look back.
